The 22nd Air Refueling Wing is based at McConnell AFB and is the host unit. 

The 22nd’s mission is to develop and maintain the capability to conduct air refueling operations supporting command objectives in any part of the world, in any condition or climate. 

This role helps carry out AMC’s commitment to world peace through readiness and deterrence of armed aggression. This commitment also includes support for the Department of Defense in many contingency situations, from strategic force projection and strategic force mobility, to humanitarian assistance.
